About Huronia Auto Glass

Norm Rumney opened Huronia Auto Glass in 1983. His son Adam runs it today, from the same shop at 821 Vinden Street in Midland.

Forty-three years is long enough to have replaced glass in most of the vehicles in this town, and often for the second generation of the same family. It is also long enough that we cannot hide from a job done badly — people here know where to find us.

What we do

Vehicle glass is where we started and it is still the core of the shop: chip repairs, windshield replacement, side and rear glass, and the marine and heavy equipment work that most shops turn away.

Alongside that, we sell and fit what people actually put on their trucks around Georgian Bay — wheels and tires, tonneau covers and caps, lift kits, hitches, steps, remote starters, and Western snow plows with the mounts and wiring to match. Buying the part and the fitting from the same shop means one place to call if something is not right.

How we work

  • We quote what the job actually is. If a repair will do, we will not sell you a replacement.
  • The person quoting is usually the person doing it. There is no service writer between you and the work.
  • We handle the insurance. Most claims are billed direct so you are not out of pocket or chasing forms.
  • We tell you when we cannot help. Occasionally that means sending you somewhere else.
